Lee Roy Selmon is Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Ring of Honor inductee
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they will unveil the club’s Ring of Honor at the November 8 game against the Green Bay Packers, with Pro Football Hall of Fame member Lee Roy Selmon to be honored at halftime as the first inductee.

The Ring of Honor will be prominently displayed at Raymond James Stadium and will recognize the most significant individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the history of the franchise.

“We are thrilled to be unveiling the Ring of Honor,” said Buccaneers Co-Chairman Bryan Glazer. “Lee Roy Selmon was the first draft pick ever for the Buccaneers and his Hall of Fame credentials made him an easy choice as our first inductee. Lee Roy set the standard for the Buccaneer defense, which is still embodied today.”

In addition to the unveiling of the Ring of Honor on November 8, the Buccaneers will wear their throwback uniforms and pay tribute to the 30-year anniversary of the 1979 team.

sorry to be a pain Dan, but Leroy Selmon played on the defensive line during his playing days. I have also met Mr. Selmon in person awhile ago here in Tampa. Very nice guy, also of note they have an expressway here in Tampa called the " Selmon Expressway".

I know him very well.  He came to my store and signed autographs for 3 hours.

I also worked for the BUCS for a long time with the still photos during the games and he was about the nicest person you could ever meet.
