Cavalier Fans: Lebron Is Gone And Why There Were Warning Signs

By Eric
SA Columnist

Well, is this much of a surprise to any of us that in Cleveland Cavalier Fans are still whining about the whole Lebron exit? :/  It has been at least a week since Lebron announced his decision and still Cavalier Fans are still mad. Well, I do agree with them some what, but come on guys this is a little to much. The warning signs were there, but Cavalier Fans didn't see them it seems.

Cleveland didn't really help Lebron stay because if they really wanted him to stay then they would have tried to add some free agents to their roster. Now the the Cavs have two choices beat Lebron to a title or announce they are rebuilding. Either way Cleveland needs some new talent fast because if they want to get back on top of the Eastern Conference Standings then they will have bring in some new faces. Problem is a lot of the top free agents that were in the NBA Free Agency Bag this year have either been picked up or announced they are staying put with their old team.

I still cannot help, but believe that Lebron wanted out of Cleveland. He's been their it seems for ever and you'd think that if Dan Gilbert wanted to keep Lebron their so bad then he could've at least given him some new stars to play with. Wink

Jealousy seems is the perfect word that sums up the way Dan Gilbert and the rest of Cleveland feels. Jealous that now Miami has the king and jealous that any hope of seeing Lebron raise the trophy that was once a wish is now a faded memory.

I feel as if none of the brouhaha over the James situation is really warranted. He is talented, basketball is a business, he put his heart and soul into several seasons there, and he can choose to do whatever he wants. He doesn't owe Cleveland anything, nor should Cleveland, or their fans, feel entitled to anything. Sure, it may have been underhanded to do the one hour special, but Cleveland-as well as other snubbed teams-should have had the foresight to prepare for a different situation. It is never wise to place all of your eggs in one basket.

I agree, he did handle this poorly. A show, rather than a simple phone call or announcement...too much for me.

Lebron was after the media attention that came with it.
