Darryl Sydor Retires

Zachary Walter, SA Columnist

After 18 years in the NHL, Darryl Sydor has thrown in the towel.  The 38 year old defender played over 1,000 games total, for six different teams, including the 2004 Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning.

He also played for the Dallas Stars.

Sydor will be a coach of the AHL team, the "Houston Aeros." They are affiliated with the Minnesota Wild.
