Quote
Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre plan to meet at an undisclosed location later this week to discuss the possibility of the former Packers and Jets quarterback renouncing his retirement from the NFL to play the 2009 season with the Vikings, according to a source with direct knowledge of discussions between the two parties.

There is a mutual understanding that sometime soon thereafter Favre will decide whether to sign with the Vikings. The team would expect him to participate fully in offseason minicamps and training camps, which he missed last year with the Jets.

I agree with RJ.

He should just stop this whole drama and put a news conference up so we can put this one to rest. He said he would remain retried and now I am starting to get really angry that he is trying to come back.

This whole Brett thing is a distraction to all of the teams and players are trying to get ready for the pre season.

Brett should just stay retired and do something else for once.

Now the reports are that Favre gave his X-Rays to the Vikings and if surgery isn't needed he'll sign with the Vikings.  I think he is just dragging this on and will sign just to get more media attention.  \

Of course, I have no problem about anybody coming back IF they still have the physical abilities.

My issue with this is that I do NOT think he's still capable of playing and also that he keeps retiring and un-retiring.

see you guys see the retiring and unretiring thing as a drama created by favre for his own amusement, I see it as a guy who knows he is getting too old to play, but loves playing the game so much he cant decide if its time to end it for good or not, in games he is forced to make split second decisions, those come easy to him after all these years, but this decision is one he is forced to mull over for weeks and weeks, and I think its probably a painful process...by the way i think he is still capable of playing, he still has the physical abilities, though they are not as good as they once were, i still think hes a better starter than  many of the starting QBs in the league

I'm sure it's tough, but of course, I've never been in that situation.

However, it's like getting over a girlfriend.  You have to learn to let go.

another good point, but I think Favre really wants to go out  with a bang. Like beating his replacement in a game at Green Bay and in a purple viking uniform what better way to end his career then that.
